Sarah + Bree / Same Sex Couple's Session / St. John's Engagement Photographers

Two girls on opposite ends of the world. From Newfoundland and Australia, this is a love story for the books, people. A mutual follow online and a love connection later, the girl from Down Under spent Christmas here with Sarah 3 years ago and the rest was history.

On a pretty chilly day in Downtown St. John's I had the pleasure to photograph these wonderful souls. Pictured is Sarah Hall of Sarah Hall Photography, and her lovely girlfriend Bree. We frolicked on the rooftop and then warmed up with some of that liquid gold hot chocolate courtesy of Second Cup Downtown St. John's. :)

ROBYN + MATTHEW / St. John's Engagement Photographers

On a chilly winter day in St. John's, Robyn & Matthew (with me in tow!) ventured out for their engagement photos. We had runny noses and cold hands and toes, but it was worth it because these two just warm my heart. Their day began with some adorable snowy adventures in Bowring Park, and ended with a romp around the Bannerman Loop skating rink. What a day, what a day. Huge congrats to you both!!

Lots of love,

Jameila & Nathan // Proposal

On December 27th, 2015, these two made a promise to share life together, and I had the honour to witness their moment and capture it. Can't wait for their engagement shoot later this year!

St. John's Wedding Photographers || Jen + Dan Tied the Knot

On a really really hot day (and I mean HOT) in Quidi Vidi Village, St. John's, Jen and Dan said tear-jerking vows in front of only their closest family and friends. This little fishing village was the perfect backdrop to their easy, laid back, beautiful day. After being troopers with their huge bridal party (the more the merrier, we had so much fun) in the heat for beautiful photos, they married overlooking the inlet and then partied the night away in the Quidi Vidi Brewery, which had been decorated by their close friend. The food, prepared by J+D's mothers, was AMAZING  and the brewery's craft beers were a great complement. Everyone ate up, and then for the two's first dance, there probably wasn't a dry eye in the room as they swayed to the sounds of guitar played by D's brother. Finally, it was the beginning of the end as Dan's parents took to the dance floor and started the rest of the day off right! Before long, dancing was in full swing and it was time for me to say farewell to this amazing, funny, kind couple full of life. Jen and Dan, you were a dream to work with and I am so blessed to have had you two as part of my wedding family! I know our paths will cross again, all my love and best of luck!

Now, enjoy their photos!

XO, Maddie

St. John's Wedding Photographers || Kat + Geoff Are Married!!

Feast your eyes on this set, you won't be sorry when you see this sweet pair :) Way back in August, with only a couple weeks left before their ceremony, Kat and her fiancé Geoff asked me to capture their elopement on Signal Hill.. How could I say no to that?! Well, I didn't! :) That's how I came to know their story.

These two were living in Nova Scotia with their little ones, when Geoff one day proposed! However, upon planning their day, the lovebirds realized a big wedding wasn't what they wanted... so they put the nuptials aside, and for the next 4 years, life, while wonderful, got in the way of the vows. HOWEVER! Flash forward to August, 2015. Finally, K+G just couldn't wait any longer!!! So, with their best friends and the kids in tow, they planned a trip here to our beautiful province of NL, seeing the sights and catching a concert weekend on their way! After all that fun, everything quieted down when everyone came down a flowery path on the side of Signal Hill to the sound of the waves, waiting for the ceremony to start. Finally, after 4 years of waiting, Geoff got to see his bride come down the "aisle" (might I mention, she looked stunning in her mermaid-style gown!!). With only a few VIP's (Very Important Peeps)- a couple parents, best friends, and the kids, Kathleen and Geoff made it official with moving vows and a ceremony that even brought tears to my eyes (although anyone who knows me knows that is not very hard). After sharing some champagne, hugs, and kisses, the crew left to celebrate the brand new Mr. and Mrs.!!! Now that you know their story, have a look at the photos I was honoured to capture! Have a happy day, xo
