Working with me for your wedding as explained by The Office

*There have been countless blogs over the years where gifs and photos from The Office tv show are used to make relatable posts about life, so shoutout to the articles before me for the original idea inspiring my own particular take!*

Raise your hand if planning your wedding is stressing you the F out!!

If you haven’t done this before, you might feel totally clueless- which is 100% valid. My #1 advice to help the process be more smooth and exciting is to invest in professional vendors you trust…

- including a wedding photographer!

Today with some help from the peeps at Dunder Mifflin, I’m going to walk through what your wedding photography experience with me will be like! The Office is so relatable that it can literally apply to anything…

…Like how you feel once you’re engaged!!! That means you can start planning your wedding which is so exciting-

but can also be stressful AF since you have to wear a lot of hats.

GIF2dwight.gif

You’ll need a photographer to capture it all, and that’s where I come in! I’ll help you choose the best package for your needs, and answer all your questions about working together.

Plus, I’ll be so thankful you chose me…

GIF3micheal.gif

That you’ll get a letter in the mail from me saying welcome! Every client who books me for their big day does :)

As the months go on, we will start planning your engagement session!! You’ll likely panic over what outfits to wear…

GIF4micheal.gif

But its all good- because I’ll help you pick the perfect things so you’re both comfortable and looking fly AF. You’ll be belly laughing and feeling like Beyoncé in front of the camera!

GIF5MICHEAL.gif

Before the wedding comes, I’ll meet with you to help plan final details and your schedule for the day…

And all of a sudden your wedding has creeped up! You’ll be feeling such a crazy mix of love and emotions… Not to mention the ceremony nerves are REALLLLL, am I right?

gif6kevin.gif

Once you finally say I Do though, you’ll feel like this.

(Don’t be surprised if I cry behind my camera from the joy!! Big ugly tears).

gif7jimpam.gif

After your ceremony is over, we will adventure around for the photos of you two, and you’ll definitely feel like a celeb with all my compliments on how freakin’ amazing you are.

gif8kelly.gif

Then comes your family formals! A lot of my couples stress about this due to the number of people, but worry not guys!

I come with a pre-decided list we will have worked on to help those family photographs be a breeze… so that they DON’T go like this:

gif9office.gif

Lastly, it’s your reception which means PARTY TIME. If you’ve chosen my all day package I’ll be there capturing hilarious candid dancing photos of you and your friends before my coverage time ends!

gif9dancing.gif

THEN you have to recover from the party…

gif11toddpacker.gif

And I know just what will help with that: a sneak peek of photos from your day that will make your brain explode!!

8-10 weeks later, THE DAY IS HERE. You’ll get the most exciting email ever saying that your final gallery is ready!!

gif10dwightandy.gif

The waiting may have killed you…

gif12andyhardlife.gif

But it was all worth it because now you two married babes can snuggle up and reminisce about your happiest day when you said yes to being in love forever.

gif13weddingpic.gif

It’s always so bittersweet delivering a final gallery because I’ve spent a lot of time getting to know you and witnessing the happiest moments of your life…

gif14pamcry.gif

But it opens a new chapter which I’m always so honoured to continue to capture as your family grows.

gif15jimhug.gif

As Micheal Scott says, MY HEART SOARS WITH THE EAGLES NEST.

I love you all so much and can’t wait to photograph your wedding days!! I’ve also truly loved spending time with those now married peeps who I have already photographed, and I hope this was a funny trip down memory lane for you!

Pretty much sums it up.

Travel Diaries : SCOTLAND

TRAVEL DIARIES INSTALMENT II : SCOTLAND

Let me begin this by saying I am SUCH a die-hard Newfoundland girl, and in me is a very strong passion for our island that not many places even come close to rivalling. However, If there's one place that's felt like home away from home, it was Scotland.

I was surprised to be hit with this deep feeling of home once we arrived at our flat in Edinburgh, and now almost a year later I still feel so moved by our experience when I look back on my photographs.

Every time I go through the memories you're about to see, I reminisce on a place where a big piece of my heart still remains. I can still feel the historic charm and warm culture of Edinburgh, the enamouring beauty of Glen Coe and the Scottish highlands, the whipping wind that greeted us at every loch.

It means I can close my eyes and be transported back to the time where my soul felt its most ablaze with passion for our world and the magic it holds, and I can’t wait for the day I can once again face into Glen Coe with the wind at my back.

I think about Scotland constantly, and am so lucky that I have these photographs to remind me of the best week of my life. I hope you enjoy this little look into it.

xo

Me and my girls standing at the most breathtaking place I've ever seen. Experiencing Scotland with them was the trip of a lifetime and one I hope I remember forever.

Off on another adventure this Friday to Sweden and can't wait to explore somewhere new. Stay tuned for that travel diary in the coming weeks, and keep your eyes to my Instagram @maddiemillsphoto for live updates!

As always, thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading, sharing, and supporting my passions. Love you all so much!

Travel Diaries : IRELAND

0039ireland_dublin_galway.jpg

In May 2017, I backpacked Europe for 3 1/2 weeks. At first I was joined by my family in Ireland, and then  by my two best friends in Scotland/England. It was most breathtaking 3 1/2 weeks of my life. This post will be the first of three detailing my travels, so I invite you to sit down all cozy and spend awhile with me. :) I am long-winded, passionate, and basically just a huge chatterbox, but I hope I allow you to experience some of the magic of this beautiful place and share my happiness with you. xo

How is it that going so far away feels exactly like coming home?

Many Newfoundlanders before me have taken the pilgrimage (so to speak) to Ireland, where our ancestors come from, where our music comes from, and where our very essence of being originated. Over time, this has become its own distinct and magical culture in NL. Travelling across the pond to a place that ties so much to our own island was a very surreal experience, and one what I had been waiting for practically my whole life.

It's really challenging for me to explain how overwhelming the feeling of "being home" was without prattling on for hours. If you know me at all, I'm not over-exaggerating here. Instead, I'll allow this following story to set the tone. Try your absolute hardest not to laugh at how much of a sap I am, but if you do, I really can't blame you, haha.

My cousins and I were standing in a massive gift shop in Dublin. It was tourist central. Super cheesy, but absolutely perfect. I was shopping around, minding my own business and getting little gifts for my friends back home, when all of a sudden a new playlist began over the speakers.  I literally teared up, people. The music was everything I grew up on here in Newfoundland. I knew every single word, and just stood in the store holding back sobs. Not very well, I might add.  Singing along with my cousins,  I truly realized how connected my people and I are to this country.

WELL, now that I've truly embarrassed myself, I sincerely hope you enjoy this little peek at Ireland and its beauty. The following images are a mix of cell phone snaps and my own travel photography, because you know this photographer was NOT going abroad without a real camera. ;)

And, just like that, it was onwards to Scotland!

I really hope you enjoyed seeing some of the magic that Ireland had to offer, and I'm so grateful you spent this time with me!

Thank you so much for following my journey so far, and I hope I'll see you next week for the 2nd instalment of Backpack Diaries!! Stories include trying haggis, looking for the Loch Ness Monster, and me probably crying  as I try to type out and describe the greatest day of my life, LOL.

xoxoxo

Getting Art For Your Home Matters. Here's Why.

As a photographer, I can only hope that when a session or wedding has been captured, clients will want to get their amazing digitals turned into memorable, beautiful art though me instead of visiting Walmart, Dominion, or Costco... But, like most dreams, that's one that doesn't achieve reality.

And you know what? That's my fault.

But with the new year coming, I'm going to change that, so that everyone who books with me has the opportunity to have stunning, tangible, brag-worthy art for their home that showcases your memories.

"But", you may ask "what exactly IS wrong with printing at Walmart or Dominion?"

Well, you get what you pay for.
And after you have paid your photographer a good investment to create gorgeous memories for you, why would you want to waste them on cheap photos that turn out as cheap quality?

You deserve the best.

As your photographer, my investment in you goes way beyond just the day of our session. I make sure I get to know you, and become familiar with what matters to you. Extensive preparation goes into your session or wedding, and I help you plan it from start to finish. After our shoot is done, I spend hours in front of a computer making your images come to life, turning them into art just for you.

You wouldn't get your photos taken by Sears or Walmart and the print them through me, would you? Of course not. So why would working with me be any different?

Lucky for you, now it's not :)

With the new year approaching I am happy to say that I am now full service. Like always, I am committed to creating truly priceless photographs for you of the things that matter most, and that now includes a focus on giving you the best most professional and beautiful, tangible memories that you can proudly display in your home (and actually afford!).

When you look back on old photos down the road as the years have gone by, you won't want faded, cracked, blurry photos that were 30 cents at your local supermarket shoved into a box in the back of your closet. You'll want priceless, timeless, classic and beautiful art that has been hung up ever since your session with me and has stood the rest of time; art that has brought smiles to your face each time you pass by.

Art for your home matters. And that's why.

Now come on, let's create some together.

XO, Maddie
